Way to much dust when emptying bag of puzzle pieces. Pieces are to small and very cheaply made and the paper rips easily. I could not figure out the blue edge pieces on top of the puzzle, they just did not fit together well. I do not recommend purchasing this puzzle and if I had to do it over again I would pass on it. Very disappointed with the puzzle quality.
I am a big fan of Dowdle Puzzles but I found Route 66 to be my least favorite. I don't like the way the puzzle was cut. The pieces are too similar in shape. Not a happy customer with this one.
The top edge pieces are so much alike, I prefer puzzles that have pieces that are a little different.
Didn't start it yet have others ahead of this one. Usually have 4 to 6 puzzles waiting.
What started out as a fun puzzle with a complicated picture (I love the ones with lots of detail and little scenes) turned into a frustrating disaster as we spent days trying to fit pieces into more than one place. I have never encountered a puzzle with so many similar pieces that can be fitted comfortably into multiple places. If you are working a detailed scene, the picture gives you enough clues to get it right. If you are working a large expanse of sky or consistently colored landscape, the picture offers no help. The differences in shading were so subtle that they were useless. As an added bonus, I've had puzzles with missing pieces before, but never a puzzle with an extra piece. That was fun to figure out. After several days of almost completing the puzzle and being left with 2 or 3 pieces that could not possibly fit in the remaining blanks, we gave up. Several pieces had become so worn from being moved that they "peeled." It is the first time in my life (I am not young), after working hundreds of puzzles, that I ever gave up and refused to continue. We purchased a second Boardwalk puzzle at the same time as this one but I am uncertain if I will even attempt that one. With a great picture and poor construction, this puzzle was an epic fail.
