In 1853, Archibald Gardner built a sawmill along the Jordan River just south of Salt Lake City, Utah on the site that is now Gardner Village. In 1877, the sawmill became a flour mill and a bustling center of an industry that included a mattress factory, broom factory, blacksmith shop, and general store. Nowadays, Gardner Village is popular for its restaurant, fun shops, and family-friendly activities.
