After the first airplane took flight on December 17, 1903, the world realized that the sky was never the limit. Airplanes began to conquer the skies and support the country economically, and as a safeguard, especially during WWII. On September 18, 1947, the youngest military service known as the United States Air Force was created. Protecting the skies, space, and cyberspace is the U.S. Air Force’s job, but their motto “Aim High” ignites a spark to always go beyond their limit, to achieve the dreams of mankind. We salute the U.S. Air Force in serving our country above and beyond what we ever thought was possible in times of war and peace.

Birthday gift for Air Force Crew Chief Husband

I liked the puzzle, although I did not get the reference guide to the planes and that's why I ordered this puzzle. My husband didn't really care because he knew all the planes anyway, so he didn't need it.

Aim High

This puzzle is fun to put together. Actually, I've done four Dowdle puzzles, and I think they were all fun to put together. The artwork is pretty and colorful. The subject is interesting. I enjoyed learning more about the history of the Air Force from the items in the picture and the enclosed explanatory legend. This puzzle was more challenging than other 500 piece Dowdle puzzles I've done. (The aircraft in the top left corner was the most challenging part.)

Fun & Educational Puzzle

We purchased the 500 piece puzzle from Costco because my fiancé was in the USAF for ten years. We loved that it had the informational page about each plane too!

Great Puzzle

It is a great puzzle, but from a career Air Force officer, there is an error in the poster key. The puzzle and picture are correct, with the Air Force F-15 fighter right in the center of the puzzle. The "key" on the back of the poster describes the aircraft (#30 or #33) as the US Navy F/A-18 Hornet not the United States Air Force F-15 Eagle.
