The area in northern Italy, nestled on the Mediterranean coast between Genoa to Pisa, is known as the Italian Riviera. Here lies Cinque Terre (Italian for Five Lands,) a cluster of five towns designated as a National Park. Villages of brightly colored buildings perch like exotic birds on cliffs that plunge into the blue Ligurian sea. If this sounds like something from a postcard or fine art piece, you are right. This region is among the most photographed areas of the world. Eric, like many others, was charmed by these quaint seaside hamlets. This painting is of Manarola. Benvenuto! My biggest “problem” with this puzzle was it made me long to go back to beautiful Cinque Terre after having been there twice. It was fun puzzling while reminiscing. Ive never seen a squirrel there, and for that I am grateful. I love Eric’s attention to detail, especially the fun facts on the cheat sheet. He always does an amazing job, which is why it saddens me to point out that he spelled Manarola incorrectly.
Happily, all my pieces were included, with no extra pieces, which is exactly what I expect from Dowdle and what I always receive. Thank you for the high-quality of your puzzles. Can wait to start my next one!
This puzzle was not fun to do. Many of the pieces are of similar color and shape and it is very difficult to tell which piece goes where. Made a lot of mistakes along the way due to similarity of pieces, and when done had two pieces left that did not fit into the two empty spaces. Disappointing as usually I enjoy these puzzles, but not this one.
