Lucy Mack Smith was the mother of LDS Church leader Joseph Smith. Joseph and Mary Noble built this beautiful brick home, and lived there prior to Lucy. Before they were forced to flee Nauvoo, IL, the Nobles deeded the house to her. At this time, Lucy was 70 years old and ill, so she was unable to make the trek west.
