Some believe it’s a derivation of the Spanish word la joya which means jewel, thus the cities nickname of “Jewel City.” La Jolla Cove is a part of the San Diego/ La Jolla Underwater Park, a marine refuge area great area for snorkelers and scuba divers. The Cove is known for resident wild seals and sea lions. The Scripps Oceanographic Institute is a strong partner in the area. Just worked this puzzle for New Years, and it was such a fun puzzle. Many of the puzzle pieces are delightful in their own right, but as a whole, the colorful, playful scene was a joy to piece together. It's sitting on a table in my living room and I just don't want to break it up now. Great work, Eric Dowdle!
