I have admired the artwork on the Story Guild puzzles for a while, so when they came up on sale I bought four. This is the first one we worked on, and there are a few quirks that we found to be annoying. First and foremost, they claim to be the same size as the Dowdle puzzles, but do not fit on the 16x20 puzzle tray - they are just a hair too big, so either the top or bottom pieces have to be propped up on the edge. Also, a few of the pieces were bent, and a series of about six pieces in a row had something stuck on the top of them. Compared to the quality I got use to with Dowdle, this one is sub par. Not sure if that is why they were on sale (?) The image itself is beautiful. Will complete other three - hoping there will be no issues with them.
When I saw the Story Guild puzzles, I liked the idea. A return to a time in my younger years when adventures were made from our minds by utilizing a variety of parts most adults would consider junk. I built the puzzle from the inside out and enjoyed seeing the airship come into play first. Great fun.
